GOLDEN ABC, Inc. (GABC), the LH Paragon Group’s fashion retail arm, continues to uphold the company’s core values of service and stewardship through Get Up, their brand of Corporate Social Responsibility.
In commemoration of Earth Day, GABC volunteers came together for the first Get Up Initiative for the year in a coastal clean-up drive along Caban Island in Mabini, Batangas in partnership with Pure Oceans, an organization that supports innovative projects for the preservation of marine ecosystems and biodiversity, and with the support of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary.
GABC volunteers collectively gathered and segregated 220 kilograms of plastic waste, which were transported to Pure Oceans’ facility for upcycling into reusable merchandise to support the livelihood of the community. The residues are processed into cement to be used in building pavements.
Get Up was launched in 2011 as part of the company’s commitment to bring purpose into action by inspiring greatness within GABC and the community. Through Get Up, GABC has partnered with reputable groups and foundations to support various causes under its four main advocacies: Education, Arts and Culture, Community Building, and the Environment.
