GOLDEN ABC bagged a Gold Stevie for Innovative Management in Consumer Product and Service Industries in recognition of its innovative practices, dedication to employee development, and steadfast business recovery.
In his interview with Simon Hyett, Contributing Editor for Retail Asia, The Penshoppe Group’s Vice President for Strategy and Operations Byan Liu said that the company “always puts the customers at the front and center in all of [its] initiatives, and every enhancement is designed to create the best customer experience.”
Further explaining the changes implemented by the company, Liu said, “in general, we enhanced processes and spearheaded innovations that all driven by our goal to better serve our customers in the online space.” Liu also said that The Penshoppe Group is always committed to responding to the needs of the customers, citing the production and selling of face masks on the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. When asked about what’s next for The Penshoppe Group, Lui said that what we currently see is just the tip of the iceberg. “The Penshoppe Group will continue to forge ahead with its omni-channel and digital journey” as it continues to “try and transform the Filipino shopping experience, and bring the future of retail in the Philippines.”
On top of that, GABC also received a Silver Stevie for Most Valuable Corporate Response. GABC has been proactively contributing to the country’s herd immunity goals by securing the safety of thousands of Filipinos.
Not only did GABC conduct seminars to eliminate vaccine hesitancy among its employees and family members, but the company also constantly partnered with the Quezon City LGU to facilitate vaccine rollout. Further aiming to protect more Filipinos, GABC, along with its parent company Cebu-based LH Paragon Group, through its philanthropic arm, LH Foundation, Inc., donated 5,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines in Cebu.
GABC was also agile in responding to the need for more PPE suits on the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company tapped its partner vendors to mass-produce PPE suits which were donated to hundreds of hospitals across the country.
True to its virtue of stewardship, GABC also facilitated the provision of millions of pesos worth of food aid donated through different organizations and communities, the procurement and distribution of thousands of COVID-19 testing kits and vaccines to various local government units, and the disbursement of millions of pesos in financial aid given to employees and business partners – even during an almost-zero revenue phase.
GABC partnered with PDRF, GoNegosyo, and Tanging Yaman Foundation for the speedy release of needed funding to feed families and protect frontliners.
Winning these two Stevie Awards means that GOLDEN ABC bested nominees in all 29 nations of the APAC region for the said categories.
