Leaders of LH Paragon Group’s (LHPI) Cebu-based business units headed by Group Chief Finance Officer Edmun Liu came together in a collaborative discussion and economic briefing dubbed Breakfast of Champions, held at the Oakridge Executive Club last June 26, 2023.
The learning session was facilitated by former National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Director-General and Secretary of Socioeconomic Planning, Dr. Cielito Habito, Ph.D. Dr. Habito is currently a Professor of Economics at the Ateneo de Manila University and is the Chairman of Brain Trust Inc. He sits in the Boards of several corporations and foundations and has been sharing his views and opinions on economic matters for the past 21 years on his weekly column, “No Free Lunch” on the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Dr. Habito shared invaluable insights into the economic landscape and offered key strategic directions as the country faces an uphill recovery. Focusing on the hunger and education crises, agri-development, trade and export, and cashing in on Filipino creativity, Dr. Habito shared that while economic growth may be slower, the bigger challenge is to make that growth a better-quality growth that uplifts the lives of the broader mass of Filipinos.
Following the presentation, LHPI Group CFO Edmun Liu joined Dr. Habito to facilitate an interactive exchange of ideas and sharing of practical insights.
