Consistent with its thrust to cultivate a culture of wood appreciation and continuous learning, Matimco launches the Matimco Learning Institute (MLI) on October 2022 to enhance, equip and enable the learning and developmental needs of its stewards to further build their competencies across five key development areas or MLI Academies, namely: Stewardship, Leadership, Wood Selling, Wood Operations, and Wood Science.
The Matimco Learning Institute (MLI) is designed in collaboration with Dr. Sergio Cao, President and Chief Academic Officer of Manila Tytana Colleges (formerly Manila Doctors College) who provided his expertise on the development of the academic framework, curriculum, policies and standards for the different MLI Academies.
Dr. Cao was a recipient of the Dangal ng Lipi ng Bulacan sa Larangan ng Edukasyon in 2018 and was hailed as an Outstanding Young Scientist by the National Academy of Science and Technology in 1994. He held the position of Chancellor at University of the Philippines Diliman for two terms.
MLI offers Diploma Programs, Functional, and Foundational courses open to all 400+ employees of Matimco, Inc. delivered through various learning channels whether online, face-to-face or asynchronous sessions to ensure a variety of optimal learning environments for all enrollees.
